Tokina, Sigma, or Stitching?

Sony Cameras and Minolta forum from Photo.net - photo.net
Let me start off by saying I'm inexperienced.

I'm interested in buying a lens for landscapes but my money is limited. I was bored and looked up used lenses on craigslist. I found a guy who was selling a "Tokina 19-35mm f3.5-4.5." Does Tokina make good lenses or should I just save up for a good one? I read reviews that said there is some distortion and the edges of photos can get blurry on certain settings.

He's also selling a "Sigma 28-70mm f3.5-4.5."

I also thought of just stitching multiple photos I take with my kit lens when I go on my trip to the Grand Canyon next week.

What do you think?
