SX50 and the Viewfinder

Canon PowerShot Talk Forum: Digital Photography Review - forums.dpreview.com
The SX50 is truly a fine machine, but not without a couple of real irritants.  One of these is the quality of the eye Viewfinder.  First of all, the quality of the images when viewed through it seem very poor, and have me almost needing to use the LCD instead.  Not what I wanted from this camera.  The images seem rather poorly lit-----darkish---and lack sharpness; with  deterioration of the image (even moreso) as you look to the edges of the viewfinder's frame.

Also, the diopter settings of the viewfinder are rough and approximate at best.  The best setting for me would happen to be somewhere between the click settings.

That said, and assuming others might feel the same to some degree, how are you managing to deal with these 2 things?  I do wear glasses when I shoot.  But this is not a problem with any of my other eye viewfinder cameras.

I like this camera, and the results capable with it.  I would just like to "like" it more when actually shooting with it.

Thanks for your comments.
