Ricoh GR II DISPLAY - FOCUS FRAME QUESTION
HI there, i just received my new GR II a couple of days ago - not had a GR since film days! Very happy with the purchase but having one slight usability issue.
In the process of setting the camera up I have enabled only two display options via the "DISP. Button Display Setting" menu (in Settings). One of these has lots of info including the "information display" option selected. The other has no information option selected so that it gives a clean uncluttered view when preparing to shoot - which I prefer most of the time.
However, it seems that if you deselect the "information display" option you don't just lose the clutter, you also lose the focus frame (prior to pressing the focus button that is). This means that you cannot position the focus frame before you actually focus - which is less than ideal when using the Pinpoint focus as I do.
This seems a bit odd - on other cameras I have or have had in the last few years the focus frame is always visible (prior to actually pressing the shutter button to focus) even when selecting the most uncluttered view options. So my question is: am I doing something wrong or is it really necessary to select "information display" in the screen view options in order to have the focus frame visible prior to actually focusing?
Hope someone can help.
