very nasty surprise for Canon EF100-400mm F4.5-5.6L IS II USM owners

Canon SLR Lens Talk Forum: Digital Photography Review - forums.dpreview.com
Hello Gents, bought the new Canon EF100-400mm F4.5-5.6L IS II USM lens and have done a lot of testing past weekend with shocking revelations.

With my EOS 7D body the lens autofocus behaves slower with increased focal lenght. On 400mm the AF is very slow and lazy, practically unusable for taking pictures of fast moving objects, for example airshow spotting which is my hobby and job.

Made a video of the AF test you can check here. The same result I`m getting with older bodies like 40D, 30D.

I tested the same lens with my friend`s EOS 7D mark II with result as you can see on the youtube video here. This guy is doing the same with EOS 1D X body.

Is there anyone with the same experience? Is my lens somehow damaged and not working with older EOS cameras with inferior AF system than pro cameras. Then please be aware the old Canon EF100-400mm F4.5-5.6L IS USM will be much faster than 100-400 II on your EOS 7D.
