Lensbaby 35mm with.... ?
I currently have a XP1 with the 14 / 18 / 35 lenses, and want to start experimenting with the 35mm lensbaby. I like the idea of using it on the XP1, getting an effective 50mm, but to fully take advantage of the bokeh I would prefer to use it on a FF ( besides I would have 35mm and 50mm to play with ).
Adding a FF camera to my system the problem is I refuse to go back to DSLR-styled controls since most of what I shoot these days is street (for me it is a lot quicker knobs and dials, than buttons and clicks + they give me a lot better feedback).
So thinking about solutions I found a couple of cameras, but none of them quite fit what I want / need:
1. Sony A7
Have some controls / dials, but they don't have any markings so no way to know the settings "right-now" or to change them on the "fly" (as I walk/run to where I want to take a shot from). I don't use Focus Peaking much on the XP1 since the EVF sucks, so I would have to check how manual focusing with the EVF behaves on the A7. Only reason I am considering Sony is $$$.
2. Nikon DF
I have some conflicted feeling about it. It has all the dials / knobs I want but at the same time it has the awful PASM. Honestly I would have to try this camera and see how it behaves, things I could adapt and things that would slow me down (if any). The main thing is it would be nice to add a couple of megapixels since I am adding a new camera, but well, no big deal if this is the only choice.
3. Leica M
Pricey, pricey, pricey... crazy expensive... ohh and I forgot.. PRICEY!... Besides that, it has pretty much everything, including a good/effective manual focus system.
So guys, did I left anything else out? I would love to hear your thoughts? I am planing to check a Nikon DF out this week and see how it feels, but if I don't like it or find it not suitable, then I am pretty stuck
What are your opinions?
