Lens "ticking" on focus confirmation.

Photography Chat Forum - www.photography-forum.org
Hi all, I have a Nikon 85mm F1.8 which I have had for some time after buying it second hand. The lens performs brilliantly and is sharp and quick to focus however..the one thing that annoys me is that there is a ticking sound coming from the lens when focus is confirmed ie when green dot appears in the camera. It doesn't "tick" when manual focusing. The lens when focusing is completely silent except on confirmation any idea's? I'm thinking of getting it looked at by nikon or a similar company. The "ticking" occurs on My D610 and my D7200 and the noise is definately coming from the lens.

thanks
