How does one disassemble a Polaroid 545i holder?
I'm specifically interested in the 545i holder, not the earlier 545 holder. Google hasn't turned up much more than the user manuals. Perhaps my search skills are feeble...
My goal is to make a lighter and more compact holder that'll fit my Nagaoka 4x5 and allow me to use my stash of Fuji Quickloads. The 545i's housing bulge interferes with the Nagaoka's body and prevents the holder from being fully inserted and properly seated. Quickloads require neither the rollers nor the lever mechanism. And adding lightness to my kit is a bonus.
I've removed the side clips and frame, and can flip up the outer roller assembly to get to and remove the inner roller, but beyond that I'm stuck. I've removed the two obvious Philips-head screws but can't see what needs to happen next. It seems that the lever is blocking my progress, but I've been unsuccesful in removing it. This is a cheap sacrificial holder so I don't mind destroying it, but is there an easier and more elegant way?
