Nikon, Sony - Sony has overtaken Nikon in FF ILCs and Lenses in the US

Camcorders - www.avsforum.com
DPReview: "Sony has announced that it is now ranked second in the U.S. full-frame interchangeable lens camera market, a position formerly held by Nikon. The data comes from The NPD Group, which shows a 23% increase in Sony's full-frame interchangeable lens cameras and lenses sales this year. According to Sony, its 'key models,' including the a7R II and a7S II, were large factors behind this increase."

The issue for us (not that it should affect what we use) is whether this gain is due to an increase in interest in video, which is the key advantage of the Sony's over Nikon. I don't see Sony FF cameras being much better than Nikon equivalents for stills (they may even use the same Sony sensors). But I know little about stills.

Also FF cameras may be a small part of the market, so this is a small triumph.
