Help, how bad can a new X920 be?
Dear camcorder experts,
I have used a Panasonic SD66 camcorder for wildlife filming for many years and I am still impressed with the quality of film this veteran produces (even with the 35x izoom)!
I now bought a Panasonic HC-X920 to replace the SD66, since I have read so many good things about it (and a 4K camcorder is kind of wasted on my level of filming ambition). Unfortunately, I am pretty disappointed with the quality of the first trial films, especially when using slightly higher zoom, which is exactly what I need for filming small birds in a high tree . Anything more than 20x zoom and the picture looks incredibly fuzzy and out of focus, even when filmed as 1080 50p and exported as the best possible quality- see attached address to an example clip on youtube (I wasn't able to have a direct link in this message)
My question to those of you owning a X920: Is this "normal" for the X920 or is there something wrong with this particular piece of equipment and I should have it exchanged??
Alternatively, am I handling this camera somehow wrongly (wrong settings or the like)? The clip was made with the all automatic setting.
Any advice/input would be greatly appreciated - many thanks in advance!
