Photographing old photographs

Photography Chat Forum - www.photography-forum.org
Hi All!

I have some old photos, taken with a Kodak Instamatic, my first camera, that date from the late 60s and the 70s. I stuck them in two self-adhesive albums. A friend looked after the albums for years while I was abroad - she features in quite a few of the photos!

Now I have them back and I thought I could scan some of them and upload them. However, I've just discovered that they won't 'unstick' from the self-adhesive pages without self-destructing! So I had the bright (?) idea that I could photograph the old photos with my digital camera. I haven't tried it yet - it's today's project!

What settings? Any other ideas, forum friends? All thoughts welcome and much appreciated.
