Nikon - New D5300 with 18-140 mm lens

Nikon DX SLR (D40-D90, D3000-D7000) Talk Forum: Digital Photography Review - forums.dpreview.com
I just ordered a new Nikon D5300 the other day. Decided to get the 18-140mm lens instead of both the 18-55mm and 55-200mm. I hope this will keep me from having to keep switching lenses all the time.

I had been considering the 18-300mm lens, but could not afford it since it cost more than the camera.

Do you think that the 18-140mm lens will be ok for an all-around lens for a beginner?

If I end up wishing I had more zoom power, I guess I can put the 18-300mm or 55-300 on my future wish list.

Thanks for your input.
