Ricoh - A few GR-related questions

Ricoh Talk Forum: Digital Photography Review - forums.dpreview.com
New to this particular forum- I just bought a used GR, and have a few general questions:

1- I am wondering about the lens hood: I probably won't use the wider lens, but I like the idea of  being able to use a UV filter, and reduce flare. For those who have used it, is it worth the $50 in terms of added functionality, and are there any downsides other than a little added bulk?

2-I want to use one of the optical viewfinders, and am curious if the "mini" is worth twice the cost of the other version. To me, the size and lack of the 2nd frame lines seems like a bonus, but why the huge cost difference? Are there any good 3rd party options, or do I just bite the bullet... I am open to a good used finder, and they seem scarce on Ebay right now.

3- If I just use the single center focus point, is it relatively easy to visualize where that point would be in the optical finder? It would be great if there were some kind of tiny mark to use as a guide...

Thanks for any insight- looking forward to the arrival of this camera.
